After yesterday diagnosis we are pushing forward to treatment. Right now Zach can have no visitors except immediate family due to the fact that they are taking his immune system down to zero so they can start chemotherapy. We have a 50/50 chance and we are going to give it everything he can tolerate to beat this nasty cancer. Zach has up and downs and this is very typical of ICU. He has his age going for him and healthy heart. The vent is also helping his lungs hugely. Zach will also not be going to University Hospital any more one because he is unstable and two because he cannot receive a liver transplant because of his diagnosis. But the doctors from University are involved in his care here at Good Samaritan because of the rare form of Lymphoma/Leukemia. Zach is on continuous dialysis now and it is holding in labs stable for now. Chemo will start in the morning and will be very dangerous because of his many organs that are now compromised.
